The Agricultural Society Mata Linda, Ltd is a family company based in Herdade da Mata, located 5 km from the town of Alcáçova, municipality of Viana do Alentejo, Evora district.
The Society began in 1995 when the owners of Swiss nationality have chosen to live in Portugal.
Herdade da Mata has a total of 750 ha, which are exploited for various purposes, including creation of cross cows in extensive, forest, crops of rainfed and irrigated, and creation of various breeds.
The owners have as an objective the creation and preservation of indigenous breeds, including Garvonesas cows, horses and Lusitanian Sorraia, the donkeys and goats Mirandese silly.
One of the main concerns is to give priority to animal welfare, conserving nature and biodiversity.
